August 8th, 2016 brings us 17 days away from the National Park Service Centennial. In this edition of the #CentennialCountdown we go back 17 years to 1999 and the creation of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and the 100th anniversary of Mount Rainier National Park.

Black Canyon is one of the parks that surprised me. It is epically beautiful.

For Mount Rainier National Park we did the Wonderland Trail, which has been one of my life goals for several years. It exceeded my very high expectations!
