On May 22nd, 2016 we find ourselves 95-days away from the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Here is some National Park Service history from 95-years ago in 1921.
Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas was created on March 4th, 1921
Interestingly the superintended 'shall provide and maintain a sufficient number of free baths for the use of the indigent'
Like all things, there is a bit of controversy. There are some that contend that Hot Spring was established as a National Park on April 20th of 1832. While Congress did officially set aside the land for 'future disposal' it didn't officially get the name of National Park until 1921.
