87-days until the National Park Service Centennial

May 30th, 2016 brings us 87-days away from the National Park Service Centennial. In this edition of the #CentennialCountdown we go back 87-years to 1929.

In January of 1929, Horace Albright, was appointed as the 2nd director of the National Park Service. As you can see from this 1922 photo in Yellowstone, the park's approach to wildlife management has changed a little bit... 

1929 also marked the creation of Grand Teton National Park. A park that needs no introduction, Grand Teton is named after the three Teton's which are prominently displayed in the photo below.
