June 9th, 2016 brings us 77-days away from the National Park Service Centennial. In this edition of the #CentennialCountdown we go back 77-years to 1939. Adolph Murie, an employee for the wildlife division of the National Park Service was assigned to assess the relationship between the Dall sheep and the wolves in the Mount McKinley area. He researched the wolves from 1939-1941 and published the book The Wolves of Mt. McKinley. The publication of this book lead to the termination of the predator eradication program in Mount McKinley (Denali) National Park.
