June 21st, 2016 brings us 65-days away from the National Park Service Centennial. In this edition of the #CentennialCountdown we go back 65-years to 1951.
1951 was an interesting year for the park service because it was a year in which there were three directors of the National Park Service.
Newton Drury finished his time as director and was replaced by Arthur Demaray. Demaray had a very short tenure before retiring and was replaced by Conrad 'Conny' Wirth.
