WAWONA AREA Suggestions

  • Hikes:

    • Wawona Meadow Loop - 3.5 miles, starting from the Big Trees Lodge

    • Grizzly Giant Loop - 2.1 miles, starting from the Mariposa Grove entrance area

    • Swinging Bridge Loop - 4.75 miles, starting from the Pioneer Yosemite History Center

YOSEMITE VALLEY Suggestions

  • Hikes:

    • Mirror Lake - 2 to 5 miles depending on whether or not you do the loop around the lake.

    • Mist Trail

      • Vernal Falls - 3 miles round trip, 1,000 feet of elevation gain

      • Nevada Falls - 7 miles round trip, 1,900 feet of elevation gain

    • Columbia Rock - 2 mile round trip, 1,000 feet of elevation gain (starts from the Yosemite Falls Trail)

      • Walk an extra 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile (relatively flat) to get a view of Upper Yosemite Falls

  • Viewpoints:

    • Glacier Point - The road opens in late April and early May, drive up here if you can

    • Tunnel View - This is the entrance that you will be coming in from Wawona, it is a short pull off that gives you a view of the Valley

    • Bridalveil Falls - This is a short walk, but will give you a good view of the falls

    • Lower Yosemite Falls - This is also a short walk, but gets you to the bottom of Lower Yosemite Falls

Tuolumne Meadows Suggestions

  • Hikes

    • Gaylor Lake Trail - 2 miles round trip, 500 feet of elevation gain

    • Dog Lake Trail - 2.8 miles round trip, 600 feet of elevation gain

  • Tunnel View (sunrise or sunset)
